Community Mentorship and Strategy
Recess is a safe and engaging space designed to foster creativity and spark new interests. Our goal is to provide a playful and non-intimidating environment for people to explore beyond their 9-5. But what happens when this sparked interest becomes a fire? For those whose interest becomes a passion, we offer office hours to help them build their skills and potentially turn their hobby into a side hustle or career. Our team brings over 20+ years of collective experience in arts and technology to support this goal.

Our activities include brainstorming new programming ideas, designing visuals for projects, developing community programming for brands and hosting pop-ups for artists. We also open our space to the public for them to connect and collaborate with us on creative endeavors.

Why We Do This
Our team discovered that the most inspiring and valuable learning experiences happen when creative exploration is free from expectations. Through our diverse creative endeavours, we found a community of like-minded individuals. We believe that removing barriers to entry and fostering a non-judgmental environment is key to learning and connecting with others. We are committed to ongoing learning and sharing that inspiration with others.
We are guided by the belief that engaging in creative activities, or play, can bring benefits to individuals and groups. We believe that real-life interactions and activities where creativity can flourish without pressure, can bring joy and fulfillment. It's important to find balance between enjoying your work and pursuing what brings you joy.
